About Moon Harbor Heroes…

Moon Harbor Heroes is a Masks: A New Generation Actual Play podcast which releases episodes every Monday and Wednesday, with occasional Friday bonus episodes. Styled very much after comic companies like Marvel and DC, Moon Harbor has two primary lines, Cataclysm Crew and Faces, as well as several spin-offs and side lines. More information on these lines can be found below.

Moon Harbor Heroes is one of the grittier Masks APs, often featuring stories of complex familial, platonic, and romantic relationships. Episodes often include demonic possession, body horror, mind control, and the like. For full content warnings, see the individual issue descriptions.

Our Comic Lines

Cataclysm Crew

Cataclysm Crew is comparative to Moon Harbor’s X-Men, dealing with a rotating cast of heroes. The two most consistent members are Rascal King and Machina, with other members including Taranis, Ethril, Blue Samurai, and Flyby.

Cataclysm Crew features the titular group facing off against several massive organizations: the Superhero and Antihuman Breach and Reconnaissance Entity (or SABRE), the Midtown Mutant Mobsters, and the newly formed Crown of Thorns. It’s about a group of teenagers defying and redefining what is status quo, while they navigate romance, heartbreak, loss, and growing into who you’re supposed to be.

Faces

Similar to Marvel’s Fantastic Four, Faces focuses primarily on the same constant group of heroes (with one substitution during the Blockade crossover). Faces tells the story of Fae, the demon-possessed woman trying to stop her Doom from taking over the world; Rider Typhen, a Legacy battling against his sense of self and his estranged father; Carl, a.k.a. Myriad (and later Golem), a Newborn hivemind made of sentient insects who is learning what it means to be human, and Asimov, the Brain who created a monster intent on destroying this reality, who replaced Violet Starling.

Faces deals primarily with individual stories: confronting Fae’s demon and the organization that put it there, defeating Rider’s villainous father, tracking down and beating Asimov’s creation, and discovering Carl’s connection to (and difference from) the rest of humanity.

Sword and Sight

The stories told from the inside of SABRE, Sword and Sight examines The Sword, a Soldier raised by SABRE with prosthetic attachments instead of hands, and Anagram, a robot implanted with the mind of a prophet from the future driven to stop that future from happening.

These issues frequently intersect and cross over, particularly with Cataclysm Crew, allowing the two characters to be separate from one another, but also intimately connected.

Xenoflux

Our Patreon-exclusive game, Xenoflux is the story of Xenolith, a former villain with control of the earth, and Flux, a hero from the past who finds out that her future self is the villainous Solip. Xenoflux also examines what happens to some of the heroes who don’t get adopted by SABRE, several of whom end up living in a halfway home-style apartment with Sandy, a regular person who takes in stray mutants, heroes, and the like (and who happens to be dating the Martial Artist, yet another Moon Harbor villain).
